Ingredients

  • 14.75 oz-418 grams Red salmon
  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Crème fraîche culinairy cream
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika powder
  • 6-8 drops Maggi seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Fresh grated white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Fresh grated sea salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp Red salmon juice (take out of the can of salmon)
  • 1 Medium size pickle (chopped)

Creamy red salmon mousse

Whenever you have a party or high tea, Creamy red salmon mousse is a recipe you cannot miss! For this recipe you need good quality of canned red salmon. You can use this recipe for canapes,bruschetta, puff pastry cups or  high tea sandwich. This salmon recipe is fresh with pickles and cream made of mayonnaise and Crème fraîche. Salmon mousse is not that difficult to make and you don´t need  any kitchen supplies! Only a fork and a medium sized bowl.

 

Directions

  1. Open a can of red salmon and take 1 tsp of red salmon juice out of the can for flavor. Remove the excessive dark parts. Put the red salmon parts in a medium size bowl and add 1 tsp of red salmon juice.
  2. Press salmon with a fork until it loosens up. Add 1 chopped medium pickle or 2 tbsp of cornichons. Mix the pickles with salmon with a fork.
  3. Add fresh grated white pepper, salt and, and few drops of Maggi seasoning. Mix this well with salmon and pickles.
  4. Use a seperate bowl and use a whisk. Mix mayonnaise with Crème fraîche until smooth.
  5. Mix first 2 tbsp of mayo cream with salmon and blend well with a fork. When it is too dry add more spoons of cream to the batch. Be careful with adding too much mayo cream! (This recipe is a mousse and should not be very liquid)
  6. Keep the creamy red salmon mousse in a closed container in the refrigerator. This cream is good for 3 to 4 days.
