Mediterranean tuna salad

Our mediterranean tuna salad is creamy because of mayonnaise and Crème fraîche. When you are more on a healthier lifestyle, this recipe fits great into a diet without the mayo and cream. This recipe is the way we make this for our catering service. For tuna salad you need 2 cans of tuna in oil and better quality of eggs. We use organic or omega 3 eggs. Also our recipe contains tumeric and paprika powder.

The two spices are to make this more flavorful. When you decide not to use mayonnaise and crème fraîche, you can mix this salad with tumeric and paprika as well. Besides these spices, Tabasco and worcestershire sauce is a part of the flavor too! It doesn’t matter which Tabasco you use. Our favorite is Tabasco buffalo flavor. Habanero or the regular Tabasco fits great with this recipe as well!

Prepare ingredients up front

When you start to make mediterranean tuna salad, measure your ingredients up front. You avoid to over flavor this salad and you don’t forget an ingredient to add. This is the way I am always working and our team. When I am opening 2 cans of tuna, I put this in a strainer and get rid of the excessive oil. Then I am using a fork to mash the larger tuna parts. For Mediterranean tuna salad, I am using a medium sized bowl. A smaller bowl makes it more difficult to fold all ingredients.

When you combine all these ingredients well, use a container for your Mediterranean tuna salad. Keep this refriged for at least 3 hours. You can use Mediterranean tuna salad for lunch or lettuce. When you have a party, you can use this salad on toast, bruschetta or tapas. There are so many party snacks with tuna. You can check our Pinterest and Google plus. Our Fingerfood, Food Emporium salads or fish board have plenty of examples. For more information about Mediterranean food and diet, please click here I hope you like this recipe.
