Asian BBQ chicken wings

It is almost Superbowl! and game night means chicken wings! For the Superbowl we have created Asian BBQ chicken wings. This type of chicken wing recipe needs seasoning and marinade. When you marinade these wings, you can roast these in your oven. Asian BBQ chicken wings look beautiful and taste delicious with these Asian spices. The marinade makes these BBQ wings delicious! You don’t have to BBQ these wings. The marinade is Chinese bbq sauce.

Char sui BBQ sauce and five spice powder are easy to find in an Asian supermarket. Some regular grocery stores does have five spice powder on their shelves as well. This seasoning becomes more popular and you can use them for many other recipes. You can use this for meat and poultry! Before use, make sure you don’t use too much seasoning. This can over flavor your recipe. When you have a pound meat or poultry, use 1/2 to 3/4 tsp 5 spice powder.

Directions

  1. Rinse 2 1/2 lbs chicken wings with water and put these wings in a large bowl of cold water with 1 tbsp vinegar. Leave them for about 15 minutes and rinse wings again with water and put all wings in a colander.
  2. Dry each wing with kitchen towel and put each wing in a large bowl. Season all wings first with 1 tsp white pepper and crumble 2 Maggi chicken cubes. Mix well with a large utensil spoon or spatula.
  3. Add 1\2 tbsp onion powder, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder and 1 tsp of 1/2 tbsp 5 spice powder. Mix these ingredients well with chicken.
  4. The last part is to add 3 to 4 tbsp char sui sauce. Mix all ingredients well and store chicken wings in a ziploc bag.
  5. Put the ziploc bag in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  6. Pre heat your oven on 355F/180C. Lay each chicken wing on a roasting wire rack. Roast first 20 min. Flip every wing and roast another 12 minutes. Asian BBQ roasted chicken wings are ready.
